Otolaryngology Associates, P.C. is seeking a qualified Audiology Technician who can provide both technical and administrative support to audiologists in the delivery of hearing and balance care. The role involves performing clinical tasks such as conducting hearing tests, assisting with hearing aid management, and maintaining equipment, as well as handling essential administrative duties to ensure efficient practice operations.
Clinical Duties
Hearing Tests:
- Perform basic hearing assessments, including pure tone audiometry, to evaluate a patient's hearing thresholds.
- Assist patients with the selection, fitting, and adjustment of hearing aids.
- Troubleshoot minor hearing aid issues and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance.
- Ensure audiometric equipment is calibrated and maintained properly, including performing electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids.
- Prepare patients for hearing tests and procedures, providing clear explanations of the process and ensuring patient comfort throughout.
- Scheduling Appointments
- Manage patient appointments, including in-person visits and potentially telehealth sessions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results, treatment plans, and other relevant documentation using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Assist in preparing billing forms and supporting insurance claim submissions.
- Answer phones, greet patients, and handle a range of general administrative duties to support clinic operations.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, other nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff to ensure timely and cutting-edge patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and serve as a clinical expert on ENT-related conditions.
- Audiology Technicians work under the supervision of a licensed audiologist.
- Duties may vary depending on the clinic or facility's size and needs.
- They play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and delivering quality care in an audiology practice.
